Brad Bergen

Brad worked 27 years as a scientist and manager in regulatory affairs for Health Canada where he developed good problem solving and interpersonal skills. In 2005 after visiting family on Vancouver Island for the first time, he had the opportunity to work on a special project for a year and a half in British Columbia. During that time he fell in love with the Island and in particular the Cowichan Valley and Brad knew he had found the perfect place to which to retire . Having had an ongoing interest in real estate (he had bought and sold over a dozen homes) as well as developing good people skills, taking up real estate seemed a natural fit. Before leaving Ottawa, Brad studied home staging which has proven beneficial to his clients and he provides this as a complimentary service. He also holds the SRES designation (Seniors Real Estate Specialist) enabling him to provide seniors with assistance in downsizing to smaller homes and condos as well as transitioning to assisted living scenarios. Brad is keen to contribute to the community and volunteers in the kitchen at the 50+ Centre, as a musician and treasurer at a local church and is one of the Four Cowichan Lake Tenors who provide entertainment at seniors residences and community events. He also likes to support local businesses and uses local products and restaurant gift cards when preparing gift baskets for his clients. His goal is to work as hard as he can for his clients always keeping their best interests at heart and striving to make the buying or selling process as stress free and enjoyable as possible. He is happy to say that many of his clients have become his friends. Brad has been a licensed real estate professional since 2015 and he is careful to limit the number of clients at any given time to ensure that he can provide the appropriate level of service to those clients he is working with. When necessary he is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and help with packing, decluttering and cleaning!
